****SECOND CONTROL PANEL****
3D-BOX
Left-click on the points as required to produce a two-dimensional
outline, but at the final point, right-click instead of left. Now
pull out the 3D extrusion; it can be swung around its 2D base till
it is at the correct size and angle. A mouse-click will then lock
it in place and return you to the control-panel.
The 'Shadowed/Bordered/Filled' options are not applicable to this
function.
GRADUATED-TONE STRIP
First select whether the toning from white to black is to run in a
vertical or horizontal direction, then left-click on a starting-
point and pull out a rectangular frame. Left-click when the frame
is at the desired size; it will then be replaced by a rectangular
area of graduated toning. You are automatically returned to the
control-screen.
RAYS
Click on a centre point for the rays, and either pull out a line
or click again on the location for the outer end of the ray.
If you keep the left mouse button depressed and pull the line
around the ray-centre, a ray pattern is produced - the faster the
line travels, the more space there is between rays. This is best
with line width set at its thinnest (set via the Line icon in the
fourth control-panel), and a different pattern may be obtained by
using a broken line, or one with an arrowed end.
A more serious use for Rays is the provision of perspective lines
or guide-lines in a drawing. For this it is best to position the
ray centre and then draw each ray individually, by left-clicking
to locate its outer end.
